AVG Identifying AccountRight 2017.1 update as a Trojan

Hi Everyone

 

We are aware that some clients running AVG antivirus have been receiving warning that the AccountRight 2017.1 update is infected with a Trojan Horse. This is currently being investigated by our team who are working with AVG to get this resolved as soon as possible, although at this stage it appears to be a false positive result.

 

In the meanwhile, we do recommend downloading the installer directly from us through my.MYOB Australia | New Zealand and not through any third party websites. If you have any concerns over the security of your system then we do encourage speaking with your IT professional.

 

If you are receiving this error then please let us know below, and if you could let us know which antivirus program you are using. 

Session expiring using accountright 2017.1

We  frequently have the message, "This session has expired. Your company file session has expired because of inactivity, or an AccountRight Live administrator is upgrading or restoring the file. Please sign on to your company file again.".

 

We are running 4 computers and only this newly instaled computer is having this issue.

MYOB AccountRight SE Ongoing Server Issues

We are having ongoing networking issues with a client who is currently on MYOB AccountRight Live Plus 2017.1

The issue has been happening with at least the previous 3 versions of MYOB as well.  The main issue is that the AccountRight Library Services on the Windows 10 computer at various times do not start up at computer start up.  As you can see in the attached image.  Thus networked computers cannot log into the Company file on the server machine. I have tried:

Installing Clean Windows 10

Uninstalled Norton A/V

PC is only protected now with Windows Defender

 

The system will run fine for days or even upto a month without issues, then one one start up the services fail to start.

 

Now since version 2016.3 I now even need to Open up Windows Firewall Settings and manually allow the MYOB Library services to be allowed to run on Windows 10.  After I upgraded the server pc to 2016.3 and then today to 2017.1 all computers lost access.  First the services were not running, then found the Firewall was preventing it from operating.  After I found both these items on both upgrades the system worked.

 

I have contacted MYOb support in the past but they blame the computer.  Hence why I formatted the hard drive and installed a clean version of Windows 10 at one point.  The computer is about 1 year old only.

 

 

Can I use my own cloud instead of MYOB's cloud?

I work in a business that has many company data files, currently about 20, using Classic Account Right v19.  We save them on our cloud server, and use them from 3 workstations each installed with the software.  Only a few are large files, most are quite small.

 

I was considering an upgrade to Account Right Live, but have been told I only have an allowance for 4 data files on MYOB's cloud under our current subscription.  The cost to ugrade our subscription for all 20 or so files would be cost prohibitive.

 

So then I considered still upgrading to Account Right 2017, and just saving on our own cloud.  I have spent many hours reading about Libraries and their location, and network setups - and it seems that if I don't use MYOB's cloud I can't use my own cloud (which is regularly backed up etc) as libraries must be saved locally on C.  I have concerns about backups etc if this is the case.

 

Have I understood this correctly? Does anyone have a similar setup, or can provide me some advice?

Failed to upgrade company file from v10.04 to 14

Hi,

 

I upgraded to AccountRight Plus from MYOB15 recently. When I open AccountRight Upgrade Assistant to upgrade my old company file, It failed at about one minute and display error message "The data file version of the file that you have selected is 10.04. This file cannot be upgraded to AccountRight Plus Data Version 14."

 

Can anyone help? Any suggestion to upgrade company file will be greatly appreciated.

 

Attached is the screen shot of the error message.


Compliance Update 2017.1.1

I have already installed the compliance update for Account2017.1.1 on my computer. When i log onto a client's file it say (About MYOB) 2017.1.1

 

Do my client with online access to their files need to install the compliance update on their local machines if they are already running 2017.1?

 

tax tables revision date not updating

Hi

I updated AccountRight Premier from 19.11 to 19.13. All good no problems. I followed the instructions to update the tax tables which looked like it went smoothly. Checked the revision date and it shows the 2015 date. Found a link suggesting complete uninstall and reinstall of the software. Don't really feel motivated to do that quite yet. Is there another solution please?

I have a very very old version 8 release 2.0.1 1998 Best Ware MYOB accounting.  I can open any of our accounting due to message of "You have less than 0 KB fre on the disk.  At least 200 KB is required to open a data file"

Please help....we have every record for our company in there.  Even the backup will not open. Could I upgrade to a new version and it might open?

Hi

I've recently taken on the bookkeeping role and I would like to find out how to upgrade the old file to 2017.1?

 

My major concern is that I will have to create opening balances and re-enter card files, etc so if this is this case, we will probably just purchase a competitor's product.  I'm hoping for a quick solution to get this changed over for the beginning of the new financial year.

We have a two computers still running windows XP and MYOB V 18.  We want to upgrade these computers so will need a link to download our MYOB V 18 to  new computers running windows 10.  Any help in doing this and getting the programs to run successfully would be appreciated.

Hi

 

Just signed up to Account Right Live and have been invoiced (with payment taken) from that date. Yet I note when logged in that I am still in the 30 day free trial. 

Do I get a refund on the payments I have made to the end of the free trial period?
