creating a desktop shortcut

I have just upgraded from V19.12 to V19.14

I usually create a desktop shortcut from the data file on all of the computers so the wrong file doesn't get opened.

When I do this now the shorcut wants to open with the older version which doesn't work.

Can I delete older versions of V19 without it affecting my v19.14.0 install? or is there another way around this?
