Import Bank Statements without rolling over previous year

Hi there,

We run MYOB Cashbook ( a old version, I think it has bee running from 2008!) 

I would like to keep the 2016 accounts open for any additional reports required by our accountant to finish off our end of year accounts. Our FY runs Jan  - Dec.

Am I able to do this & start importing the bank statements for 2017? Currently it won't allow me to do this.

I have read some forums and tried to lock the year up to Dec 2016 but I still can't import this years statments.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
